And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8

We take Matthew 28:18-20 and Acts 1:8 to heart. Missions is one of SCF’s main outreaches. SCF gives about 15% of our tithes and offerings to planting churches, supporting our foreign missionaries, local outreaches and assisting those who volunteer for short-term mission trips.

Beyond Our Borders and Into the World
Meet our Foreign Missionaries

People like Simon Chavez (Spain), Cristina Mellin (Brazil) and David and Lydia Martinez (Orphanage Emmanuel) left the U.S. to serve on foreign soil for the Lord.

Ministries that are in countries that the Lord has led SCF to support include China, India, Jordan and planting churches through The Surge Project.

Short-Term Mission Trips

So that the people of South Coast can experience the cross-cultural experience that serving on foreign soil allows and experiencing how the Lord will ignite their hearts for the nations we send short-term mission teams to several different countries throughout the year. Maybe the Lord is tugging at your heart right now to serve. Check out the trips for the upcoming year.

Reaching Out to the Local Community

We believe that reaching out to our local community is another important step in SCF’s Missions outreach goals. SCF also invests funds in people and organizations that are ministering in Ventura county. Outreaches like CityKidz, Open Hands Food Pantry and feeding the homeless at Lyon’s Park each week are local areas of evangelizing.

We also support the following local missions: Church Resource Ministries, City Center Transitional Housing in Ventura, City Impact, International Reconciliation Coalition, Gabriel’s House, James Tunney, Navajo Reservation, Marriage Well, Radio Nueva Vida, Teen Challenge, Tender Life Maternity Home, Ventura County Pregnancy Center, World Impact-Jessica Froman, Young Athletes For Christ, Young Life

Surge Project

In 2013 The Surge Project was introduced to South Coast Fellowship. The response to give was overwhelming. To this date SCF members have helped start many churches all over the world. Check out the west wall of the Breakthrough Room for the flags representing the countries where churches are flourishing because of the generous giving from SCF family and friends.
